everything and everywhere

I don't really even know where to start.
This week was...yeah. After being in one location with 100+ theatre students, all there to study acting and become better artists, and none of them restricted by an ASC or a board of directors or a "code of behavior" or whatever...Not being dictated to by old people who give us money and are therefore allowed to dictate what is "appropriate"...AGH! There were SO MANY AMAZING shows that I would love to do here, but can't because there's no way that Fox would let us because it's a small religious institution with a stick up it's ass! I watched other people and amazing male actors who I would give my right arm to perform with, but then I see our men who are great, but few and far between. Fox is too small...Too tight and restricting...

Hey Kyle...You still lookin' at U of O?

mkay

In (almost) exactly 1 hour, I am leaving for Pasco, WA for KCACTF (the Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival). It should be really nifty, not to mention I'm gonna be gone for the whole week, which will be a nice break from school.

Anyway, the only other thing worth talking about isn't so nice and/or nifty, so I'm gonna keep it to myself. You can ask me about it later if you'd like. If not, it's just as well.

An arbitrary wish...

...for something truely beautiful to claim as mine.

Something wicked this way comes...

For all those of you who do not know, and for some reason might actually care, I am officially a member of the cast for the spring production of Macbeth. Also, for those of you semi-familiar with the script, I'm King Duncan. (Erin, he's basically the King Theoden of Scotland)
So, yeah. It promises to rock. All I know is that I get to wear a kilt, put my hair in braids/muddy dreadlocks and have lots and lots of henna tattoos...and then there's the whole being king part. Gooooooo Celtic war-lords!

Oh, and Kress and Kyle, if you don't come to this show, I will never be friends with you again. That is a promise. So, for your own future sanity and safety, I suggest showing up :0)

the 411

Ladies and gentlemen, an update.
Classes are fine and relatively easy...Nothing back-breaking yet.
This past weekend was pretty fantastic. I went to the basketball games on Friday and Saturday, then struck the Ballyhoo set after the game Saturday night. Sunday was spent mostly at Phil Heu-Weller's house watching the Superbowl and eating his amazing cooking.
Auditions for Macbeth were tonight...The call-back list goes up tomorrow and the final cast list goes up by 9AM on Thursday. Am I nervous? Kinda. Will I be disappointed if I don't get a part? Yes. The chances of that happening are, however, small enough that I'm pretty sure that even if I don't get the part I want, I'll probably get something.
I just finished reviewing for my Shakespeare Lit. test with Kyle, so I should probably go actually study for that now.
